Our trip according to the experts, the girls!
Going to the William Brown house in London Town taught us about life in the early 1700s. We saw a tea set that William's wife had used. We discovered that the house was a Georgian style home, named after King George. William Brown had four children. We went into baby Margaret's room and saw a little pillow embroidered with her name. As we walked around we saw different houses made out of wood because they had a lot of trees on the land. Some people had a little garden. People grew vegetables and herbs. If someone had a stomachache they would make medicine out of the herbs. One day Mr. Brown became bankrupt so to make money he turned his house into a tavern. Come down to London Town!

When we went to London Town, we got to dress up as different people from the 1700's. Mia Boydston and Nellie Mills are dressed up as Elizabeth the seamstress. She made all the rich people's clothes with the fabric that they brought her. She is holding a doll. Cate Cashen-Panos and Sadie Powell are dressed up as Mrs. Scoogle with her husband Mr. Scoogle (Mrs. Rogers and Meley Cullors). Mr. Scoogle was a captain. Lanie Lawrence is dressed up as Mr. Brown. He was very rich. Grace Woods is dressed up as Mrs. Brown, Mr. Brown's wife. Caitlin Hurley and Aneesa Muhammad are dressed up as Henri Jumeau the butcher. They are holding a knife. Meredith Schatz is dressed up as Jenny. She was the only girl who learned how to read. She is holding an alphabet. Caroline Pohlhaus is dressed up as Sal, Mr. and Mrs. Brown's slave. Lucia Ayala and Ashy Daniel are dressed up as Richard Moore. He owned a tobacco farm. Come to London Town to try on a new wardrobe for the rich, the middle class, and the poor!

In London Town we did a lot of activities. We found old plates and mugs and put them together. Cate Cashen-Panos and Meredith Schatz are trying to put together an old plate. Grace, Lanie, and Caroline are putting together a plate. Mia Boydston and Mia Hieken had to form balls of lard and make corn cakes. Caroline and Lanie rang the bell that sailors used to ring on a ship. Lizzie is having a good time in Mr. Brown's house. Mia Boydston and Cate Cashen-Panos are discovering what shape their plate or their mugs had.
