Science: Spring is Here! Bring on the Plants!

The 3rd grade girls are in the middle of their plant unit. They have learned the parts of a seed, the parts of a plant and the parts of a flower. They have planted lettuce, radish, spinach and snowpea seeds and are eagerly watching them grow. They have done experiments with seeds. After discussing the growing conditions for the small garden and planter boxes by the Science Center entrance, they chose plants they felt would adapt well there. Our gardeners are busily beautifying this area! We are hoping to be able to taste-test our vegetables later in the spring.
