Spring Break to Echo Hill: A Guide to April

The days are FLYING by in fifth grade!  As the weather gets warmer, the sun gets stronger, and the girls get taller (Ms. Burr is rapidly becoming one of the shortest in the building), the precious hours spent learning in the classroom (or on the grass) seem to be passing at an exponential rate.

The last week before spring break is a wrap up week of sorts.  The Newbery unit will come to a close, working with percents and probability in math will end with a test, and the study of the New England, Middle, and Southern colonies will be complete.

Enter rest and relaxation!  Spring break is not only a time to travel but a time to relax, unwind, and rejuvenate the mind.

When we return from spring break the girls will resume guided reading in language arts, algebra (operations and equations) will be introduced in math, and the girls will continue to learn about our country's beginning in history.  24 school days will pass and then...
